Brazil’s Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) has released Directive Letter 429/2023, setting forth crucial guidelines for test reports within the telecommunications realm. According to this directive:

  • All test reports, whether conducted domestically or internationally, must adhere to the requirements outlined in Ato 4083.
  • Test reports conducted outside Brazil must be traceable and will only be accepted after the Organismo de Certificação Designado (OCD) validates the letter and confirms testing traceability.
  • International laboratories can commence testing only upon receiving approval from the OCD.
  • Manufacturers and applicants are required to furnish the OCD with details regarding the specific manufacturing unit responsible for the sample and traceability information of the submitted sample before testing commences.

This directive underscores ANATEL’s commitment to ensuring the integrity and reliability of test reports, thereby upholding rigorous standards within Brazil’s telecommunications industry.
