The Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in Vietnam has released Circular 04/2023/TT-BTTTT, updating the list of products and goods subject to Type Approval and/or Self-Declaration of conformity.

In response to the latest National technical regulations, MIC has expanded the List of goods by incorporating new HS codes. Furthermore, revisions have been made to the applicable QCVN standards per HS code, along with modifications to the descriptions of both Groups 1 and 2 outlined in the Circular.

This update directly impacts devices listed in the Circular, mandating compliance with Type Approval (TA) or Self-Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) requirements. While spectrum allocation remains unaffected, the changes in HS codes necessitate inspection quality control at customs, potentially impacting imports.

Affected products encompass a range of technologies including 5G mobile phones, RFID, wireless charging devices, DECT, SRD, and batteries. Stay informed and ensure adherence to updated regulations to navigate Vietnam’s regulatory landscape effectively.
