The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) in Japan has proposed an amendment to the Ministerial Ordinance for Enforcement of the Radio Act. The amendment seeks to relax technical conditions for certifying Power Line Communication (PLC) devices and Induction Heating (IH) cookers. Changes include relaxed type installation requirements for PLC and an increase of the IH cooker output power limit from 3 kW to 10 kW for type confirmation. The amendment is proposed to take effect in December 2023.
