The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) released a Type Approval Exemption List on August 1, 2023, covering devices including:
- Personal computers, laptops, tablets, and IoT devices
- Receive-only equipment such as FM/MW/SW radios, televisions, satellite decoders, and set-top boxes
- Vehicle-embedded RTTE, including Bluetooth, navigation, remote sensors, and car keys (RTTE must operate within the appropriate frequency band)
- GMPCS Mobile Satellite Terminals with the ITU mark
Approve-IT is verifying with BOCRA whether voluntary approval letters will be issued for applications of exempted products.
