The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) previously announced the opening of the 6 GHz frequency band for very low power (VLP) devices. On January 8, 2024, the FCC published a Final Rule titled “Unlicensed Use of the 6 GHz Band; and Expanding Flexible Use in Mid-Band Spectrum Between 3.7 and 24 GHz.” The Final Rule will take effect on March 8, 2024.
