The President of Mexico issued the Law on Telecommunications and Broadcasting on July 16, 2025. This new Law repeals the previous Federal Law on Telecommunications and Broadcasting and came into effect on July 17, 2025.During the transition period of one month, the Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFETEL) will continue functioning while the Comisión Reguladora en Telecomunicaciones (CRT) is established and functions are transferred to CRT and the Agencia de Transformación Digital y Telecomunicaciones (ATDT).
