Nicaragua enacted Ley No. 1223 – Ley General de Telecomunicaciones Convergentes on November 6, 2024. The law aims to promote technological convergence and equitable access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). As the regulatory authority, El Instituto Nicaragüense de Telecomunicaciones y Correos (TELCOR) will encourage investment and innovation in telecommunications networks. TELCOR seeks to bridge the digital divide and expand broadband access in underserved areas through incentives, a framework of technological neutrality, and protection of user rights.
