Indonesia KOMINFO Issues Updated Telecommunications Certification Regulation

The Kementrian Komunikasi dan Informatika (KOMINFO) of Indonesia previously held a public consultation on the Draft Revision of Regulation PM KOMINFO No. 16 of 2018. KOMINFO published Permen KOMINFO No. 3 Tahun 2024 on February 23, 2024, introducing the following updates:

• Test reports for telecommunications equipment, cellular phones, and handheld/tablet computers must be issued by a domestic and/or SDPPI MRA-recognized international test lab within five years of the certificate application date.
  
• Products with transmit power below 10 mW may use family approval if they share the same brand, product type, and RF specifications.
  
• Certificate fees must be paid within 14 calendar days from the SDPPI issue date.
  
• Application cancellations may be used only once per calendar year and only before the certificate fee is paid.
  
• Clarifications on QR code and warning label requirements:
  
  • The QR code must include at least: certificate number, PLG ID, brand, type of telecommunications equipment, and other data listed in the certificate.
    
  • The warning label must indicate the prohibition on modifications that could cause physical or electromagnetic disturbances to the surrounding environment.
