The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) in Gambia conducted industry consultations, framework development, and spectrum re-farming to ensure the necessary spectrum bands and bandwidths for 5G deployment were available. On June 15, 2023, PURA announced its approval for QCELL to deploy 5G technology, and the 5G network has now been officially launched in Gambia.
