The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) opened a public consultation on March 7, 2025, regarding the Draft Five-Year Spectrum Outlook (FYSO) 2025–2030.
The Draft FYSO aims to:
- Address spectrum licenses set to expire between 2028 and 2032.
- Advance the upper 6 GHz frequency band toward implementation.
- Ensure a regulatory framework supporting low Earth orbit satellite adoption.
- Progress mobile satellite service allocations in the 1980–2005 / 2170–2195 MHz bands.
- Continue radio planning, allocation activities, and review of radiocommunications devices approaching sunset.
