The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA published a Final Rule on June 12, 2025, regarding the Lower 37 GHz Band and spectrum bands above 24 GHz for Mobile Radio Service. The Rule makes 600 MHz of spectrum available for flexible fixed and mobile use, including fixed wireless broadband and Internet of Things (IoT). It will come into effect on July 14, 2025.

Additionally, the FCC introduced a Proposed Rule covering:

  • Adopting stricter emissions limits for Upper Microwave Flexible Use Service (UMFUS) operations above 37 GHz.
  • Enhancing the Final Rule through other considerations.
  • Replacing the coordination mechanism with a Dynamic Spectrum Management System (DSMS).

Correcting an error in power flux density (PFD) in one of the UMFUS technical rules.
