The Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) of Jordan opened a public consultation on June 16, 2025, regarding the Draft Instructions for Conditions and Procedures for Obtaining Approval for the entry, use, retention, and trade of telecommunications and terminal devices in the Kingdom for 2025.

Key updates include:

  • Type approval certificates for local companies will now be valid for 2 years.
  • Sample requirements have been removed from the type approval process.
  • Expanded list of exempted products, including:
    • Scanners, projectors
    • Laptops without high-power radio communication functions or parts
    • Wireless mouse, keyboard, and headsets (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
    • Wireless chargers
    • Cables and cords
    • Empty cabins
    • Remote short-range control devices using infra-red
    • Hard disks, storage devices
    • GPS navigation devices without high-power radio communication functions or parts
