 The Secretaría de Economía (SE) of Mexico announced on October 28, 2025, an Agreement modifying the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between Mexico and the United States for the conformity assessment of telecommunications equipment. Under the revised MRA, Mexico will accept test reports from U.S.-designated and Mexican-accredited laboratories for the following Technical Provisions:

  • IFT-012-2019: Specifications for compliance with limits on non-ionizing radioelectric emissions (SAR) from telecommunications equipment.
  • IFT-016-2024: Standards for low-power radio communication devices operating within 30 MHz–3 GHz, including specifications, limits, and test methods.

IFT-017-2023: Requirements for radiocommunication systems using wireless local area networks operating in the 5150–6425 MHz bands.
The Agreement will take effect on October 29, 2025.
