Chile’s telecommunications authority SUBTEL announced on November 26, 2025, the launch of Direct-to-Device (D2D) technology.
The initiative makes Chile the first country in Latin America to enable direct connections between mobile phones and satellites, expanding connectivity to previously unreachable areas.
