The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil opened a public consultation on July 12, 2024, regarding a proposal to update technical requirements for conformity assessment of Cellular Mobile Telephones and Access Terminal Stations (ETA). The proposal focuses on restrictions for certification and approval of new equipment operating exclusively with 3G or lower technology for use in Personal Mobile Service (SMP) networks.
