The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada opened a public consultation on September 20, 2024, to consider adopting the following standards:
- ANSI C63.2-2023 – Specifies electromagnetic interference and field strength measurement instrumentation for 9 kHz to 40 GHz. A 6-month transition period is proposed, as it incorporates existing requirements from CISPR 16-1-1 editions and ANSI C63.4-2014.
ANSI C63.10a-2024 – Amendment 1 to procedures for compliance testing of unlicensed wireless devices, extending the frequency range to 750 GHz and updating procedures for frequency stability, emissions maximization for mmWave, UWB, and unlicensed national information infrastructure devices. A 1-year transition period is proposed, during which either the previous or amended edition may be used for ISED compliance.
