In a significant stride towards bolstering its cybersecurity infrastructure, Chile is making headway with the Cybersecurity Marco Law project. Recently greenlit by the Senate, this pivotal legislation is now under scrutiny by the Government, Decentralization, Regionalization, and Finance Commissions.

The aim of this project is clear: to lay down the foundational guidelines and essential mechanisms necessary for structuring, regulating, and coordinating cybersecurity initiatives across governmental bodies and with individuals. By establishing a robust framework, Chile seeks to fortify its defenses against cyber threats and streamline coordination efforts in the digital domain.

While this law doesn’t directly impact conformity assessment procedures or impose additional requirements on marketed equipment, its implications are far-reaching. By setting the groundwork for enhanced cybersecurity protocols, it lays the groundwork for a safer, more resilient digital landscape.

As Chile progresses towards finalizing its Cybersecurity Marco Law, the nation underscores its commitment to safeguarding digital infrastructure and fostering a secure digital environment for all.
