The Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) of China announced new rules on June 30, 2023, titled “Compulsory Product Certification Implementation Rules for Electronic Products and Safety Annexes” (CNCA-C09-01:2023). The updated rules include Power Supplies, Power Banks, and Lithium-Ion Batteries and Battery Packs under CCC-regulated products, while exempting nine products with low safety risk or mature technology. The rules came into effect on August 1, 2023, and replaced previous rules CNCA-C08-01:2014, CNCA-C09-01:2014, and CNCA-C16-01:2014. Designated Certification Bodies will develop corresponding certification implementation procedures based on these new rules and may carry out certification and issue certificates once filed with CNCA. Compulsory product certification certificates issued before August 1, 2023 remain valid and will be converted during renewals or updates due to product changes and standard revisions.
