Get ready for a transformation in labeling practices as China’s regulatory authority rolls out the “Notice on the Use and Promotion of the New NAL Mark” on June 29, 2023. Here’s what you need to know:
1 – Launch of the New NAL Label: Starting July 1, 2023, a brand-new type of NAL label will take center stage. During the transition period from July 1st to December 31st, 2023, applicants have the option to adopt either the new mark or continue using the previous hardcopy stickers issued by the Authority.
2 – Full Promotion from January 1, 2024: Come January 1st, 2024, the new NAL label will be fully promoted, phasing out the previous hardcopy stickers. However, stickers already issued can still be utilized within the validity period of the NAL certificate.
3 – Implementation Guidelines: The new mark can be displayed electronically, physically printed, affixed as a label adhesive, or through alternative methods, subject to authorization from the authority.
Additional Note: Simplified Requirements – Manufacturers are relieved of the obligation to mark the NAL ID on various product elements, including packaging, built-in information, and advertisements, effective immediately upon this announcement.
4 – Mark Styles: Expect a fresh look with the new mark, incorporating elements such as license identification, model name, and digital coding for enhanced clarity and compliance.
