China MIIT Revises Type Approval Certificate Style and Code Format

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China announced on August 31, 2023, revisions to the Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate Style and Model Approval Code Coding Rules. Key points include:

• The new certificate format provides clearer technical information about the equipment and manufacturer.
  
• The model approval code format is now: CMIIT ID: AABCCDDDEEEE, where:
  
  • AA = year code
    
  • B = equipment code
    
  • CC = territorial code
    
  • DDD = enterprise code
    
  • EEEE = independent code
    

The revised certificate and code rules will take effect on December 1, 2023.
