The Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones (CRC) in Colombia published Circular No. 162 of 2025 on June 18, 2025. This Circular:
- Expands the scope beyond mobile phones to include fixed and satellite terminals
- Aligns requirements with newly allocated frequency bands, including 2500 MHz and 3500 MHz
- Revises the technical standards table
- Requires equipment to demonstrate compliance with electromagnetic exposure (SAR) limits and network compatibility according to international norms such as 3GPP
The Circular also simplifies the homologation process by streamlining documentation and clarifying importer and manufacturer responsibilities. Devices approved before 2016 may follow transitional rules, and all approved devices must be publicly listed with their specifications.
