The Office of the Ministry of Technology and Communications (MTC) of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) issued Notification No. 0416 on July 21, 2023, which will take effect on August 4, 2023. Under this Notification, Test Labs must hold an ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation Certificate. Type Approvals and DoCs issued before August 4, 2023, for Type 2 devices will remain valid for 3 years. After August 4, 2023, Type Approvals and DoCs will have a 1-year validity for Type 2 devices and a 3-year validity for Type 1 devices.
