The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) has issued Technical Standards for Charging and Data Transmission for broadcasting and communications equipment, including mobile and smart devices. Under this standard, the following devices must feature a USB-C type receptacle connector:
- Cellular Phones
- Tablets
- Digital Cameras
- Headphones
- Headsets
- Portable Video Game Controllers
- Portable Speakers
- E-Book Readers
- Keyboards
- Mouse
- Portable Navigation Devices
- Earphones
- Laptops
The standard takes effect on February 14, 2025, while laptops will be required to adopt USB-C connectors starting April 1, 2026.
