Nicaragua’s telecommunications authority TELCOR has published new approval requirements in La Gaceta No. 215 dated November 18, 2025.

Key updates include the mandatory No Objection Certificate (NOC) for all products entering Nicaragua, typically processed alongside homologation. TELCOR has also issued lists of restricted-use equipment and products prohibited from homologation and importation. Products not listed may enter without homologation but must still obtain an NOC.

Additional changes confirm that voluntary approval is not permitted, all new and previously approved equipment must carry black labeling, and QR codes and e-labeling are not accepted. Guidance on alternative labeling placement is pending. Currently, no local CBs are officially accredited, though accreditation is in progress.
