The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has initiated a public consultation on several key topics:
1. 2600 MHz Band Plan and Background Paper: The proposal involves urging licensees within the 2500-2690MHz frequency band to adopt the Band 41 (all TDD) configuration, in accordance with ITU recommendations outlined in Rec. ITU-R M. 1036-5.
2. 3500 MHz Band Plan for IMT and Background Paper: The draft proposes allocating the 3400 – 3600 MHz frequency range for both Fixed and Mobile applications, particularly for High-Density Fixed and Mobile uses.
3. Spectrum Assignment & Licensing Methodology: Comments are sought regarding the conceptualization and identification of High Demand Spectrum (HDS).
NICTA clarifies that following public consultations and the outcomes of WRC23, updates to the National Allocation Table will be finalized.
