The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (ECC) is extending an open invitation for public input on the draft revision of Annexes 1 and 2 of ERC Recommendation 70-03, focusing on the utilization of short-range devices (SRDs) across the European Union.
Annexes 1 and 2 of ERC Recommendation 70-03 serve as the cornerstone, delineating the technical and operational requisites for SRDs, encompassing spectrum allocation, power thresholds, and operational cycles.
This revision aims to align these annexes with the latest technological advancements, ensuring the continued safe and efficient utilization of SRDs. Additionally, it introduces novel provisions addressing interference mitigation strategies and shared spectrum access, notably in frequency bands like 433 MHz, 866 MHz, and 917 MHz.
The public consultation beckons all stakeholders, including CEPT administrations, industry players, and consumers, to contribute their insights. Comments must reach the designated ECO contact person by November 3rd, 2023.
How to Engage:
Participation in the public consultation is straightforward. Simply share your feedback with the ECO contact person via email at PublicConsultation@eco.cept.org by the stipulated deadline. Ensure your comments are articulated clearly, concisely, and with specificity, preferably in Word format.
The ECC fervently encourages broad participation in this consultation process. Your input holds the key to crafting Annexes 1 and 2 of ERC Recommendation 70-03 in a manner that caters to the diverse needs of stakeholders.
