The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA announced on February 15, 2024, that new rules have been adopted allowing Wireless Multi-Channel Audio Systems (WMAS) to operate on a licensed or unlicensed basis. Due to WMAS’s efficient spectrum use, no additional spectrum allocation from other devices is required, ultimately expanding opportunities for wireless microphone users.
