The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a Final Rule confirming that modular transmitters are included within the scope of covered equipment prohibited from receiving authorization. Devices containing modular transmitters that meet the definition of covered equipment will no longer be eligible for approval. The FCC will also restrict previously granted authorizations to prevent the marketing and importation of such devices. The Final Rule takes effect on December 26, 2025.
