The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced that certain prohibitions related to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and their critical components will be waived. Under this guidance, UAS devices already authorized for use in the United States may continue to receive software and firmware updates aimed at reducing potential harm to U.S. consumers, with this allowance remaining in effect until at least January 1, 2027.
