The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the USA published a Report and Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on January 24, 2024, to support broadband access for 5G backhaul services, as well as for use on aircraft and ships, by adopting new rules and updating existing regulations for the 71–76 GHz, 81–86 GHz, 92–94 GHz, and 94.1–95 GHz frequency bands (the 70/80/90 GHz bands).
